Naruto's got it in the bag as early as the Sasuke Retrieval arc.

While Inuyasha is as strong as Tetsuiga currently stands, he is a violent beserker if he is seperated from it. And Naruto doesn't really measure up beserker to beserker until he hits 4 tails. Granted when he gets there, he is far and away more powerful.
